11/17/2020: Lab Update: LOCS Homepage Now Available for Syndication

CDC's Laboratory Outreach Communication System (LOCS)

Audience: Clinical Laboratory Professionals

Level: Laboratory Update

The CDC Laboratory Outreach Communication System (LOCS) homepage is now available for syndication! Content syndication is an easy and cost-free way for you to add CDC health content such as LOCS messages directly to your organization’s website. When CDC updates the LOCS homepage with links to new messages (found in the “Latest News from LOCS” section of the homepage), this content will display immediately on your site through syndication. Your organization’s website becomes a gateway that visitors can use to access the individual LOCS messages and other related pages. With content syndication, you get CDC content in the look and feel of your organization’s website.

Follow these steps to syndicate LOCS:

  • Navigate to the LOCS homepage (https://www.cdc.gov/csels/dls/locs/index.html)
  • Click or tap the round orange icon at the upper right-hand side of the page
  • Click or tap “Get Embed Code”
  • Read and accept the guidelines
  • Copy and paste the content from the “Embed Code” box into your website to syndicate content (this is a task for your Web developer)

We encourage you to share this information with your communication staff or other point(s) of contact for your organization’s website. Learn the basics and more about syndicating CDC content on the Public Health Media Library website.
