The NORA Services Sector Council finalized this version of the National Agenda after considering public comments on the previous draft.
The NORA Services Sector Council produced the National Services Sector Agenda to address occupational safety and health issues for many services workers after evaluation of surveillance data, expert and practitioner input, and public comments. The NORA Services Sector included over 65 million employees in 2006. (Goals addressing health and safety issues for public safety workers are in a separate agenda.)
Work environments vary widely in the services industries and include offices, hotel rooms, indoor and outdoor entertainment facilities, restaurant kitchens, classrooms, automotive garages, public roads, and private households. These varied, and often uncontrolled, environments may put workers at risk of workplace injury, illness and death.
Comments on the selected goals are always welcome; they will be considered in future updates of this agenda. Offers from individuals and organizations to help accomplish the goals through partnerships are of particular interest to the Council. You may submit correspondence by email to noracoordinator@cdc.gov.
