Avian influenza - Situation in Pakistan

The Ministry of Health in Pakistan has informed the World Health Organization (WHO) of 8 suspected human cases of H5N1 avian influenza infection in the Peshawar area of the country. If confirmed, these would be the first reported human cases in Pakistan. For more information, see the WHO update from December, 15, 2007. There are no reports of animal or human avian influenza A (H5N1) infections in the United States.
